Planned in 3D, placed in-house

Dental implants in Oakland, FL

Planning, surgery, and the final crown handled in one studio, so you're not managing a relationship between three offices.

A dental implant replaces the whole tooth, root included. A titanium post is placed into the jawbone, the bone grows onto it over the following months in a process called osseointegration, and a custom crown goes on top. The result is fixed, cleanable, and doesn't rely on the teeth either side of it.

The part most people don't hear until later is that implant treatment is usually split between two offices: a surgeon places it, then you go back to your general dentist to have it restored. That works, but it means two consultations, two sets of records, and a gap where neither office is quite responsible for the whole result.

Dr. Little plans and places implants at the studio and restores them here too. One set of imaging, one plan, one person accountable for how it turns out.

How the treatment actually runs

It starts with CBCT imaging, a 3D scan that shows bone volume, nerve position, and sinus anatomy. That scan is what determines whether an implant is straightforward, whether it needs a bone graft first, and exactly where the post should sit. Planning in 3D before surgery is the difference between placing an implant where the bone is and placing it where the tooth used to be.

Surgery itself is usually shorter and less eventful than people expect, often under an hour for a single implant, done with local anesthetic and comfort options if you want them. Guided surgery means a printed surgical guide translates the digital plan into the actual placement.

Then you wait. Osseointegration takes roughly three to six months depending on the site and your healing. You're not toothless during it. Once the bone has integrated, we take a digital scan and fit the final crown.

Who's a candidate, and who needs a step first

Most healthy adults with enough bone are candidates. The common complications aren't disqualifying so much as sequencing: not enough bone volume means a graft first, active gum disease means treating that first, and uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking meaningfully raise the failure rate and are worth addressing before spending the money.

Bone loss is the one that surprises people. The jaw starts resorbing within months of losing a tooth, so someone who lost a molar five years ago often needs grafting that they wouldn't have needed at the time. This is the practical argument for not waiting, more than any aesthetic one.

If an implant isn't right for you, we'll say so and talk about a bridge or a partial instead. A recommendation that only ever points one direction isn't a recommendation.

What dental implants cost

A complete single tooth implant at West Orange Dental Studio, meaning the surgical placement and the crown that goes on it, runs 4,500 to 5,200 dollars when the crown attaches directly to the implant, and 5,500 to 6,300 dollars when the case needs a separate custom abutment underneath. Which one applies depends on the angle and position of the implant, and we know which before we start because the case is planned in 3D first.

Those figures are the whole tooth. It's worth saying plainly, because the most common way implant quotes mislead is by pricing only the surgical placement and billing the abutment and crown separately later, which can make a 5,000 dollar treatment look like a 2,700 dollar one.

Some cases need groundwork first, priced separately: the CBCT planning scan runs 400 to 475 dollars, extracting the failing tooth 275 to 325 dollars, ridge preservation grafting at the time of extraction 850 to 1,000 dollars, grafting at the time of placement 900 to 1,050 dollars, and a sinus lift 2,400 to 4,200 dollars depending on the approach.

For a full arch, a fixed implant-supported prosthesis runs 14,500 to 17,000 dollars per arch before the implants themselves, so a four-implant fixed arch typically lands somewhere around 25,000 to 28,500 dollars. A removable snap-in overdenture on two implants is the considerably cheaper alternative at roughly 9,600 to 11,000 dollars per arch.

You get a written plan with the full cost before anything begins, and because treatment is staged over several months, payments tend to spread out naturally.

What moves the number

  • Whether the crown attaches directly to the implant or needs a custom abutment
  • Whether an extraction is needed first
  • Whether bone grafting or a sinus lift is required
  • The number of implants, and whether they carry a single crown, a bridge, or a full arch
  • Fixed versus removable for full-arch cases, which is the largest single cost difference
  • Your insurance benefits, which vary widely on implants

These are our own fee ranges, before insurance, current as of August 2026. They are ranges because no two cases are identical: materials, complexity, and what we find on examination all move the number. Your exact fee is confirmed in a written treatment plan before anything begins.

Common questions

How much does a dental implant cost near Winter Garden?

A complete single tooth implant at West Orange Dental Studio in Oakland, FL runs 4,500 to 5,200 dollars, or 5,500 to 6,300 dollars if the case needs a separate custom abutment. That covers the surgical placement and the crown together, not just the placement. Groundwork such as an extraction (275 to 325 dollars) or bone grafting (850 to 1,050 dollars) is priced separately, and you get your exact figure in writing before treatment starts.

How long does the whole implant process take?

Most single implant cases run three to six months from placement to the final crown, because the bone needs time to fuse to the implant. Cases needing a bone graft first can take longer. The surgery itself is usually under an hour for a single implant.

Does West Orange Dental Studio place implants in-house?

Yes. Dr. Little plans implants in 3D using CBCT imaging and places them at the Oakland studio with guided surgery, then restores them there as well. Patients aren't referred to a separate oral surgeon and back again.

Am I too old for dental implants?

Age itself is not a barrier. Bone quality, gum health, and general medical condition matter far more than the number, and implants are routinely placed in patients in their seventies and eighties. What matters is enough bone to anchor the implant and healing that isn't compromised by uncontrolled conditions.

What if I've been told I don't have enough bone?

That's common and usually solvable. Bone grafting rebuilds volume where the jaw has resorbed after tooth loss, and a sinus lift creates room in the upper back jaw. Both add time and cost but they make implants possible in cases that would otherwise be ruled out. A CBCT scan is what settles the question.

Do implants hurt?

The surgery is done under local anesthetic and most patients report less discomfort afterward than they expected, often comparable to an extraction. Soreness for a few days is normal and usually managed with over-the-counter anti-inflammatories. Sedation options are available if the procedure itself is the worry.

How long do dental implants last?

The implant post itself often lasts decades and can last a lifetime, since titanium fused to bone doesn't decay. The crown on top is the part that wears, typically needing replacement after 10 to 15 years. Long-term survival depends heavily on gum health, cleaning around the implant, and not smoking.
