Clear aligners
Invisalign in Oakland, FL
Straightening handled here rather than referred out, scanned digitally, with no impression trays and no metal.
Invisalign moves teeth with a series of clear, removable trays, each one shaped slightly differently from the last. You wear each set for a week or two, and the accumulated small movements do what brackets and wires would do, without the brackets and wires.
The appeal for adults is obvious and mostly cosmetic. The appeal for teens is often practical: nothing to break at a soccer game, nothing that makes a mouthguard awkward, and no list of foods to avoid.
We plan and monitor Invisalign at the studio rather than sending you to a separate orthodontic office, which means the person watching your bite is the same person who knows the rest of your mouth.
How it works, and what it can and can't fix
Teeth move because controlled pressure remodels the bone around the root. That's true of braces and it's true of aligners. The tray is manufactured slightly out of position relative to where the tooth currently sits, and the tooth follows. Small attachments bonded to some teeth give the tray something to push against for movements that need a grip.
Clear aligners handle crowding, spacing, mild to moderate bite issues, relapse after childhood braces, and most cosmetic alignment concerns well. They handle severe skeletal discrepancies, significant rotations of round teeth, and large vertical movements less well, and there are cases where fixed braces are simply the better tool.
We'll tell you which category you're in at the consultation. An iTero scan produces a digital preview of the projected result before you commit, which is the most useful thing about the technology: you get to see the endpoint before you pay for the journey.
What treatment asks of you
Twenty to twenty-two hours a day. That's the number, and it's the whole ballgame. Aligners only work while they're in, and the most common reason treatment runs long is not biology but wear time. Trays come out to eat and to drink anything other than water, and go straight back in.
Most cases run six to eighteen months, with simple ones finishing faster. You'll change trays on a schedule and check in periodically so we can confirm the teeth are tracking with the plan rather than drifting off it.
Then retainers, permanently. Teeth have memory and will migrate back given the chance, which is why so many adults in aligners now had braces as teenagers. Retention isn't the epilogue to treatment, it's part of it.

What Invisalign costs
Comprehensive Invisalign treatment at West Orange Dental Studio runs 6,000 to 6,900 dollars for an adult and 6,200 to 7,100 dollars for a teenager. Comprehensive means the whole bite is being corrected rather than a few teeth tidied.
Where the problem is limited, minor crowding, a gap, or relapse after childhood braces, limited treatment runs 4,400 to 5,100 dollars for an adult and 4,000 to 4,600 dollars for a teenager. Which category a case falls into is a clinical judgment, not a sales one, and the iTero scan settles it before you commit to anything.
Retainers at the end of treatment run 600 to 750 dollars. We quote them separately rather than folding them in, because retention is genuinely permanent and you'll replace them eventually.
Insurance is worth checking properly rather than assuming. Many adult dental plans include an orthodontic benefit, usually a lifetime maximum around 1,000 to 2,000 dollars rather than a percentage, and HSA and FSA funds generally apply.
What moves the number
- Comprehensive versus limited treatment, which is the main difference
- Adult versus teen treatment plans
- Whether refinements are needed at the end
- Retainers, quoted separately at 600 to 750 dollars
- Your orthodontic insurance benefit, if your plan has one
These are our own fee ranges, before insurance, current as of August 2026. They are ranges because no two cases are identical: materials, complexity, and what we find on examination all move the number. Your exact fee is confirmed in a written treatment plan before anything begins.
Common questions
How much does Invisalign cost near Winter Garden?
Comprehensive Invisalign treatment at West Orange Dental Studio in Oakland, FL runs 6,000 to 6,900 dollars for adults and 6,200 to 7,100 dollars for teens. Limited treatment, for minor crowding or relapse after childhood braces, runs 4,400 to 5,100 dollars for adults and 4,000 to 4,600 dollars for teens. Retainers at the end run 600 to 750 dollars. An iTero scan determines which category your case falls into before you commit.
How long does Invisalign take?
Most cases run six to eighteen months. Simple crowding or relapse after childhood braces can finish faster, and complex bite corrections take longer. The single biggest factor is wear time: aligners need 20 to 22 hours a day, and treatment runs long when they don't get it.
Does insurance cover Invisalign for adults?
Often partially. Many adult dental plans include an orthodontic benefit, typically structured as a lifetime maximum around 1,000 to 2,000 dollars rather than a percentage of the fee. HSA and FSA funds generally apply as well. It's worth calling your insurer to confirm your specific benefit before treatment.
Is Invisalign available for teenagers?
Yes. West Orange Dental Studio offers Invisalign for teens as well as adults. Teen aligners include compliance indicators that fade with wear, so parents and the dentist can see whether the trays are actually being worn.
What problems can clear aligners fix?
Clear aligners handle crowding, gaps, mild to moderate bite problems, and relapse after childhood braces well. They're less suited to severe skeletal discrepancies, large rotations of round teeth, and significant vertical movements, where fixed braces remain the better option. A scan and consultation settles which category a case falls into.
Do I have to wear a retainer afterward?
Yes, indefinitely. Teeth drift back toward their original positions given the chance, and retention is what prevents it. Most patients wear retainers nightly long term. Skipping retention is the most common reason people end up in aligners a second time.
Can I eat and drink with aligners in?
Only water. Aligners come out for meals and for any drink other than water, including coffee, which stains the trays, and anything sugary or acidic, which gets trapped against the teeth. They go back in immediately afterward, ideally after brushing.
Treatment here is planned and carried out by Dr. Clayton Little, DMD, who owns West Orange Dental Studio. For questions about the studio itself, see the full FAQ.
